Phil Holt, MBA, CBI, CBB, CMMBI, Principal Broker, DRE #01731143Â has over 30 years in selling, buying, owning and operating small and mid-sized businesses, working variously as broker, proprietor, consultant, investor, and manager. In addition to business brokerage, he has direct operational experience extending through home building, food service and vending, marine construction, commercial fishing, commercial real estate development and brokerage, deep sea diving, infrastructure construction, metals manufacturing, wireless communications, warehousing and distribution, as well as non-profit social services.

His breadth of experience, across the country and worldwide, both strategic and hands-on, in operations and finance, has given him a keen perspective on the challenges and opportunities presented to small and mid-sized businesses and the issues faced by their owners in seeking to convert the equity in their companies into cash and other investments. He is particularly skilled in developing innovative and cost-effective solutions to problems arising in business sale and financing transactions.

A member of the International Business Brokers Association, he holds a Cerified Middle Market Business Intermediary (CMMBI) designation, a Certified Business Intermediary (CBI) designation as well as a Certified Business Broker (CBB) designation from the California Association of Business Brokers. He received his MBA from San Francisco State University. Previously, he served as a Navy SEAL where he was assigned to the Apollo Space Capsule Recovery Unit.

Phil has been honored for exceptional community service with awards for his extensive work with such organizations as the American Red Cross, Habitat for Humanity, the Alameda Food Bank and The San Francisco Foundation. He lives with his wife in Alameda, CA and enjoys flying, scuba diving and long-distance bicycle touring.

Steve Wade

Steve Wade, MBA, JD, CBI, with over forty years in business acquisitions and sales, marketing, management systems, planning and development has been a manager, executive and consultant for international corporations as well as small and mid-sized companies. His consulting and management experience includes work in financial services, commercial and industrial real estate, manufacturing, mining, metals, chemicals, broadcasting, telecommunications, construction materials, litigation consulting and international investment banking.

Steve has a comprehensive understanding of the strategies and processes for preparing and positioning a business for sale and for finding and matching the appropriate buyer for it. He helps business owners develop an exit strategy that secures an orderly succession and converts the equity in their business into the maximum income stream with the minimum tax impact.

He is a Certified Business Intermediary with the International Business Brokers Association, received his MBA and a degree in Economics from Stanford University, as well as a JD from the University of California School of Law in Berkeley. He and his family are avid Alpine and Nordic skiers and enjoy high altitude hiking and camping. Steve pursues lifelong interests in musical performance and photography.

 

Bill Mitchell

Bill Mitchell, MBA, is known for his work in enhancing the market value of mid-sized businesses, developing exit plans, positioning firms for sale, identifying optimal merger or acquisition candidates and managing a successful transaction. With over 30 years experience in senior executive and financial management positions including those of CEO, CFO, VP, and Treasurer, he has also served as a trusted advisor, consultant and broker to sellers and buyers, to owners, investors and shareholders. He has developed and executed business plans, exit strategies, roll-ups, spin-offs, reorganizations, mergers and sales.

His wealth of industry experience includes work in, and consultation for, both international and domestic organizations involved in environmental, civil, and geotechnical engineering, in construction products, management and inspections, in communications and in transportation systems. His skills in developing financial strategies for business transitions in fluid economic environments, in identifying opportunities for growth through acquisition by growing companies, in finding the right buyer or seller, or the right merger partner, have made him an invaluable asset for decision-makers seeking growth, re-deployment of assets or an optimized exit strategy.

Bill, a graduate of the University of California at Santa Barbara, received his Master of Business Administration from San Francisco State University.
